How to Submit Work

Customers may directly contact the supervisor of the required service area to discuss the technical details of proposed projects.    Iowa State University requestors need to bring an Intramural Purchase Order with them from their departmental office to request services.

After the technical details of the project are known, a cost estimate is prepared.  Ames Laboratory operations work < $500 is submitted directly to the shop using the Daysheet Shop Request form.  For Ames Laboratory/IPRT work > $500 the Ames Laboratory Service Order Requisition is completed, and Laboratory/DOE approval to perform the work is obtained. If necessary, dependent upon the source of funds, a formal Work-for-Other agreement between the Laboratory and the partner is negotiated and approved.

Upon completion of the work, the customer is notified and charges are billed by the Ames Laboratory Accounting office.
