National Academies Report Cites Ames Laboratory's Strength in New Materials - 11/09/09
The United States, once the world leader in the discovery and growth of crystalline materials, is now falling behind other nations, according to a report just released by the National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences. The report also singles out the U.S. Department of Energy’s national laboratories as one of the bright spots, citing the Ames Laboratory both as a center for new materials research and as a training ground for the next generation of researchers (Read more).
