Materials synthesis and design
CRISPr capabilities and expertise includes:
- Rare-earths, reactive materials synthesis, photovoltaics, bio-inspired materials, metamaterials, and intermetallics
- Computational materials discovery
- Leadership in synthesis utilized for catalysis and surface science (SuCCESS)
- Biosynthesis, such as, Co-Ferrite nanocrystals that outperform magnetotactic bacteria
- Providing expertise in producing high-purity metals and compounds (including rare earths), often in single crystalline form
- Supplying materials for internal research programs and externally to research institutions worldwide through the Materials Preparation Center (MPC)
