Thiel named associate editor of Journal of Chemical Physics
Ames Laboratory senior chemist Pat Thiel has been named as an associate editor for the Journal of Chemical Physics beginning Jan. 1, 2013. The Journal is published by the American Institute of Physics and includes concise and definitive reports of significant research in methods and applications of chemical physics.

German television crew tapes rare earth segment | A German public television (ZDF/Arte) crew was at Ames Lab on Dec 10 to shoot footage about rare earths. The crew worked with Ames Lab's Bill McCallum to capture some of the Lab's ongoing rare-earth research. The show, "Rare Earths - The Treasure Hunters" will also include footage from Molycorp's rare-earth mining operation in Mountain Pass, Calif. |
